ACTIVITY PLAN
Target Age Group: about 2 years old Date: 19 Dec 2011
Activity: Follow the bubbles Group size: 5
Objectives: To let the children to know more about bubbles and have fun catching bubbles.
Materials Required:
Homemade bubble solution (use baby shampoo or baby wash), bubble sticks (use pipe cleaner to twist into shapes) and small plastic cups. Video on Bubbles.
Procedures
Introduction:
Play a video on bubbles and tell the children that they are going to learn a song about bubbles, before they play with the bubbles.
Process:
- let the children watch the video to get their interest.
- Teach them the song and play the music on “Pop goes the weasel”
Up and down the bubbles go
We can catch the bubbles.
Poking, jumping, oh what fun
Pop goes the bubbles
- give each child a small cup with some bubbles solution and a bubble stick, encourage them to blow
- Those who cannot blow let them do the catching.
- I will also wet my finger to hold a bubble to show them.
Closure:
After the children are tired of playing, I will collect back the bubbles stick and cups and bring the children to wash their hands.
Evaluation:
The children will have lots of fun with physical activity. This will help them in theit gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
